Bajaj Worldwide Sales Q3 2020
Following a more than 40 percent drop in sales in the first half, Bajaj Auto’s global sales in the third quarter of 2020 posted a 5.6% increase over the same period last year.
In the first 9 months of 2020, Bajaj’s global sales were 2.05 million, down 26.8% from the results of the first three quarters of 2019. Sales in India are recovering, but international markets – Latin America and Southeast Asia – are showing negative momentum.
Bajaj Worldwide Sales in 2020
This year has hit the Indian motorcycle market very hard. Only a strong presence in the international markets of Bajaj Auto partially compensates for their losses domestically.
Bajaj is the de facto leader in the African market and has a strong presence in Latin America – both of these regions have been less hit by the coronavirus than India. However, the halt in production and supply also led to an almost complete halt in sales of Bajaj products in the African continent, which is an important market for the Indian manufacturer. As a result, in the first six months of 2020, Bajaj’s global sales fell 41.4% and the domestic sales fell 51.5%.
However, in the third quarter, sales began to recover and global sales increased by 5.6% and in the domestic market by 6.2%. At the same time, sales decline is still observed in the markets of Latin America and Southeast Asia.
At the end of the third quarter of 2020, global Bajaj sales were 2.05 million units, down 26.8 percent from the same period last year.
