Ducati Q1 2021. Worldwide Sales

Despite the damage caused to the global economy by the coronavirus pandemic, some motorcycle markets have shown explosive growth in the past year. And with the advent of the vaccine and the onset of summer, manufacturers hope to extend sales growth. In particular, this is how Ducati is doing, at least if the results for the first quarter of 2021 are to be believed.

Ducati sales growth

The past quarter for the Italian brand showed a 33 percent increase in sales compared to the same period in 2020. Ducati delivered 12,803 bikes from January to March 2021, and although COVID-19 influenced the results of the first quarter of last year to some extent, the main wave of its influence came later. The same is evidenced by the fact that 2% more motorcycles were sold in the 1st quarter of 2021 than in the same period of 2019.

The results for the first months of 2021 are clearly very positive, ”said Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati. -The number of deliveries for the first quarter in 2021 surpassed not only the last year, but also the year before last.

Even more notable is the backlog of bikes still to be delivered to customers at the end of the first quarter of the quarter – this is our best result with an incredible 93% growth over 2020 and 135% growth over 2019.

Ducati’s sales were based on the domestic, that is, the Italian market – 2,354 motorcycles were sold here. Exports to America and Germany amounted to 1,723 and 1,275 units, respectively. The Scrambler 800 family outperformed in the first quarter, with the Multistrada V4 leading the individual model statistics, followed by the Streetfighter V4.

Enthusiasts have appreciated the 2021 lineup, and the ducatista family is growing, ” added Domenicali. -The situation in the global two-wheeled transport market is positive, but the supply and transportation segments are experiencing difficulties, resulting in delays in the delivery of orders and a shortage of some materials.

Hence the difficulty in meeting demand from our loyal customers, but we at Ducati are extremely motivated to do everything we can to reduce the inconvenience this situation causes.

The first quarter of 2021 report continues a series of positive reports that began in the second half of 2020. And given the imminent appearance of the new Monster, the team from Bologna has every reason to hope to maintain the current pace.
