Ktm present motorcycles for the Dakar Rally 2019
With only a month left before the start of Dakar 2019, teams are preparing hard for this most severe rally in the world.
The 2019 version will take place in the most beautiful Peru, but do not think that the competition will be simple and not spectacular. The country, enclosed between mountains and sea, has a lot to offer for off-road lovers. The Dakar champion, KTM, is gearing up for South America, with the team and bike already decided. The factory KTM team has every chance of surviving the competition of 2019: the manufacturer has won 17 past rallies, and it seems that it has a serious intention to put 18 consecutive victories in its piggy bank.
The 2019 KTM team relies on experienced pilots: Sam Sunderland, Toby Price and Matthias Walkner. They will be joined by Mario Patrao, female Dakar winner Laila Sanza and Luciano Benavaides, for whom this Dakar will be the first.
All six pilots will sit behind the wheel of a specially prepared KTM 450 Rally, they will have to overcome more than 5,000 km of sand dunes in 10 days. For Sunderland, Price and Walkner, this will be the next Dakar in the saddle of the KTM motorcycle. Price and Sunderland faced challenges last season, so in 2019 they will have to leverage their expertise and step up their efforts. As for Walkner, the bar is already very high: this year he won the Dakar, so he will have to try his best to confirm his title.
We remind you: Dakar Rally 2019 will take place from 6 to 17 January 2019, the start and finish are in the capital of Peru, Lima.
