So what to do if “maybe” did not work and an accident occurred? The special services are on their way, we will consider two options: the position of an eyewitness and a wounded motorcyclist.

Calm – First Aid
Even if everything is very bad at first glance, hysteria and tears will not save anyone. Yes, a short “psycho” will give emotional relief to the nervous system, but there is no point in acting on emotions further. Moreover, hardly anyone will rush to help the “hysterical” or to handle / explain the situation to a motorcyclist who is not himself. And the most important thing: when a person is agitated, he cannot reasonably and objectively assess the situation, especially the possible consequences. Therefore, if you are an eyewitness – inhale-exhale and with a cool head we try to help the victims.
In front of you is a wounded motorcyclist, with a high degree of probability, he will be in shock. Talk to him if he is awake. Ask simple questions “What is your name?”, “How old are you?”, “Where and how does it hurt?” All of these questions will help for two reasons:
– primary medical history. Information that will help doctors who have just arrived to predict serious injuries, and how not to harm the health of the wounded and help him survive. If a person is not able to answer basic questions in the flesh until “day is it now or night?”, Then one can fear serious head injuries and imminent loss of consciousness, which means that it is strictly forbidden to transfer a person without doctors.

While examining and feeling the victim for injuries and fractures, be sure to tell him what you are doing.

If you are a victim and no one is with you. Earlier we said that after a fall, you need to go up slowly and slowly. Fell? Wait to jump up – realize what happened. Not in the sense of “damn, I haven’t paid off the loan yet and my grandma will be upset,” but from the position: yes, an accident, but I’m alive. Before you get up, do a short self-examination of your well-being. In a state of shock, it is far from immediately possible to identify wounds.
Case of life. After a slippery ride, my good friend managed to pick up the bike (a weighty model, by the way) and drive home through half of Moscow before realizing that something was wrong. He tried to take off his equipment but could not. In this state, the motorcyclist himself rode a bike to the hospital, and there it turned out that he had a broken collarbone, so he was immediately thrown onto the operating table and titanium braces were inserted.
First aid has been provided, now you need to protect yourself and others. We expose an emergency sign, if any. If not, you need to somehow mark the place of the accident in some improvised way so that you can be seen and driven around.
Can the victim walk on his own? Excellent! We help him to get over to the side of the road. What to do if the victim cannot be moved and it is scary to do this, since it is not clear how serious the injuries are? If the mountain does not go towards Mohammed … Make a safe place around the wounded man, mark him. Anything. Put your car or bike in front of him (at a distance, of course, and not over your soul), if you are an eyewitness, do not leave the person! Nothing at all, are you a pedestrian? Place a backpack or bag about five meters from the victim. Put the trunk from the bike on as a last resort (if the accident is not at night!), At night it is better to fix the flashlight so that it shines upwards or blinks.
It’s another matter if you are a victim, and even with a passenger. Motorcyclists do not have a trunk, in which, like on a mezzanine, everything is stored: from a compressor and a spare wheel, to grandfather’s skis and the workpieces of Baba Dusya. If you are able to walk away from the place yourself, it is good if there is no way to get to the curb, but there is a bike nearby, then it is relatively safer near the motorcycle. He is more noticeable than a wounded person, at least because of the size and headlights.
Reflective vests and colorful raincoats. Anything that can reflect light and make you stand out on the road will come in handy after an accident.
The peak of the glow has subsided. The situation is starting to clear up. If you are mobile, then you need to photograph or film everything. Everything. Be sure to record signs, markings and braking distances, motorcycle position on all sides. So as not to interfere with traffic.
The motorcycle may only be lifted in the event of a spill of fuel and lubricants. If the accident is serious and there is no amicability here, the bike should lie as if it fell, if it does not completely block the movement of other vehicles. Try to photograph the road conditions so that the accident site is visible. Pay special attention to the traffic light, does it work? If you are an eyewitness, then your task is to first meet the doctors and tell everything about the health of the injured motorcyclist. It happens that a person loses consciousness, so it is important to retell everything that the victim said – name, age, what and where he experienced pain.
