Italian motorsport safety manufacturer OMP Racing announces the acquisition of Bell Racing.
Those familiar with karting, the World Rally Championship, the World Endurance Championship or Formula 1 know the OMP brand very well. And now one of the most famous American motorsport safety companies has joined other OMP assets.
Any business is not only the production and sale of products, but also processes more hidden from consumers: division, merger, takeover, acquisition of blocks of shares, and so on. This bowl also did not pass the manufacturers of protective equipment: in July 2019, the parent company Shark Helmets acquired Nolan. At the moment, it is gratifying to note that the factories and staff of both brands have remained the same.
As far as we know, the new enterprise will go the same way: the headquarters and development department of OMP, located in the Italian city of Ronco Scrivia, as well as the American factory of OMP, located in Miami, as a result of the deal, will remain unchanged. Moreover, Bell Racing’s development department and its plant in Sakhir, Bahrain, as well as the American divisions in Champaign, Illinois, Speedway, Indiana and Mooresville, North Carolina, will also remain unchanged. And this is undoubtedly good news both for the employees of these factories and for the fans of the American brand.
This is the most important deal in OMP’s 46-year history and will herald a revolution in motor sports safety, ”said OMP President and CEO Paolo Delprato, now president and CEO of the combined group of companies. -OMP and Bell are two of the most renowned companies in the industry with a wealth of experience in innovation.
Now for the details for those wondering what will happen to the Bell-branded line of helmets. Bell Racing is an offshoot (read: split) of Bell Helmets, and Bell helmets are now manufactured by Bell Sports, which is owned by the Vista group of companies. So the helmets will not be affected by the absorption of Bell Racing.
